Who am I
Resident Word Nerd
I am currently an independent scholar-educator, editor, and writing coach. I'm a Doctor of Education (Interprofessional Leadership) and the Managing Editor of the Journal of Urban Learning, Teaching, and Research.
I'm a mother, a voracious reader, deep thinker, knitter, flaneuse, music lover, traveler, soccer fan, and member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Working with words is my passion, but I really love working with people and words.
I have been a proofreader and copy editor at a Random House imprint, a college writing instructor, a legal writing consultant, and worked with a number of independent authors on their books.
In addition to my doctorate in education, I have a Masters degree in English (writing, linguistics, and pedagogy), and a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies, (English, Marketing, Entrepreneurship).

My Dissertation
“Teaching in Thresholds: Philosophical Reflections of a Nomadic Post-Critical Educator in a Precarious World"
My dissertation engages with ways of looking educationally at my own practice as a non-traditional, nomadic educator in a precarious professional disposition. It integrates the skills obtained in my life and career with the scholarly knowledge from my doctoral journey to engage with a unique problem of practice — developing my professional ethos as an educator.
